Lifelong film score fan from a musical family (mother has a music teaching degree and brother was a child prodigy violinist and now performs year-round at a theater and also has a career as a DJ). My first memory of a transcendent experience was hearing the DANCES WITH WOLVES main theme when I was 4 and thinking it was the best thing I had yet discovered. Childhood brought famous additions to my collection like STAR WARS and JURASSIC PARK, but it was not until the age of 18 that I realized I wanted collecting film scores as a major hobby. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, ARMAGEDDON and THE TIME MACHINE brought me an early obsession with Hans Zimmer and Media Ventures / Remote Control, but in the interceding decade my tastes have expanded, matured, and become more eclectic and nuanced...to the point where I feel like I have a wide appreciation for almost every genre of film, TV and game score. As such my favorite composers would be too numerous for a list to be useful. But if I had to pick a single solitary film score as my favorite, it's probably Zimmer's BEYOND RANGOON, due to it's place in my emotional journey at several different stages over the last decade of my life, giving it the status of my oldest and most comfortable friend.

If for some reason you want to know more about my personality and heart, check out my two blogs linked above. Yes, I'm one of those goshdarn ess jay double yous on the tumblers. Because I like compassion and equality and things like that. smile
