Composer Brian Tyler recently recorded his score to the D.J. Caruso thriller Eagle Eye. Executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the score to the film was recorded with a 88-piece orchestra at the Sony Scoring Stage, and ScoringSessions.com has the exclusive photos for you - as well as an audio clip when the earthquake struck!

    Enjoy!

Incredible photos and the earthquake clip is a real surprise too! Brian himself was either the bravest of them all or he was so scared he couldn't talk wink

You know what i am looking forward to?

    This:

At one point, Tyler whispered to Iwataki over the talk-back, "Are you ready for this Joel? It's a beast! This is 219 bars of madness!" Indeed, there are plenty of lengthy action sequences in the film, especially towards the climax. The finale cue runs nearly ten minutes long, and was split up into three sections just to record it (the orchestra wouldn't have been able to endure the whole thing at once)!

You know it's kinda funny. Brian is great about videotaping everything he conducts (hours and hours of footage!!), and yet the earthquake happened at the one time when the camera was off because his assistant was moving to another area to shoot from.

And yes, the audio cuts out because as soon as the earthquake hit, everyone in the booth immediately stopped everything and hit "Save" on ProTools!!!

78 minutes. Jeez. Just a guess - 20-25 minutes of good music buried in 50-55 minutes of dull trash, making what could have been a good album a very bad one. See Rambo, AVPR, etc etc.

Well... I heard the pre-mixed version at the scoring session, and not the whole thing obviously. I enjoyed it!

Yeah, I guess half of the enjoyment of a Tyler score comes from the electronics and guitars. The orchestral takes (well, the originals) that Tyler sometimes puts on an album (War, Tokyo Drift) don't appeal to me as half as much as the complete versions.

But luckily this isn't the El Cid thread, so I (and I assume D as well) would just skip anything that wasn't interesting rather than moan about bad album presentation. tongue wink

I rarely - to NEVER, find the slightest uninteresting bit in Tyler's music, ever, so no problem to me, absolutely pleasure from first up to last note wink
