I have a fear it's going to be the 2nd, the usual fast food guitars and middle-eastern like percussion.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

Does anyone who needs to wear glasses really enjoy watching a 3D movie?

I did with BEOWULF. I felt weird the first couple of minutes, but once the action started i forgot about them and enjoyed an awesome experience. Believe me, it doesn't even come close to conventional cinema once you experience it.

indeed, I think in the future practically all movies will be experienced this way, and with D-Box
Meaning it will never be the same again smile

I hope the movies get better then, because now they only aim at this 3D thing, without actually adding much. I hope Avatar outshines the silly 3D tricks and movements (like you experience in theme parks) and adds something new.

Cameron makes everything new, he redifines effects, he redifines movie magic, he redifines experiences. Avatar will be the movie any other movie will look up to

  6. Bubba Ho-Tep is kinda cool, at least cool main theme
but nothing that we haven't heard before from our Brian

  7. Actually, Bubba Ho-Tep MAY be my favorite Brian Tyler score, just because of the coolness of the rock stuff.

    New from Varese Sarabande:

    THE FINAL DESTINATION
    Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Music Composed and Conducted by Brian Tyler

On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O’Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare, Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave ... escaping seconds before Nick’s frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they’ve cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one by one — in increasingly gruesome ways — Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination. The film marks the latest in the highly popular Final Destination series, and its first 3D installment, giving horror fans an especially visceral thrill ride.

The death-defying score is the latest from Fast & Furious composer Brian Tyler. The album will feature a 13-minute suite recorded just for this soundtrack!

Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Entertainment open THE FINAL DESTINATION nationwide on August 28.

    Varèse Sarabande Catalog #: 302 066 983 2
    Release Date: 08/25/09
  8. I'm hesistant, Tyler doing horror is always worthy of inspection, but ...

will it be the same as everything else he's written lately?

I'm guessing the suite might be the only thing we return to frequently....?
  11. I'm always keen to hear a new score from Tyler. I've pretty much come to terms with the idea of hearing pretty similar things from him with his new scores.

I came across one of his older scores the other day - 4 Dogs Playing Poker - that features a lovely acoustic guitar theme as well as testosterone-fueled urban tracks.

I agree: I was just thinking the same thing having another listen to Bangkok Dangerous.

Yes, we've heard the style and form before from him...but somehow I do keep enjoying it! Which is odd, I grant, as generally composers doing the same thing over and over again annoy the hell out of me, but Tyler just keeps on running at my good side.

Maybe it's just because he's so goddamn handsome. The man greatly challenges my heterosexuality. love

Well have to look into getting that one.

If there was an award for 'Most Handsome Film Composer Ever' Tyler would win it. He looks like he should be the handsome lead in some HBO series.

Yeah, I agree. He does his best to counter the "nerd" image of the film score person (although, to be fair, that is a trait more common with the FANS than the people in the biz, like the composers). I don't have any connection to his music yet, but I like that aspect of him.
    I am extremely serious.
