Yes, we've heard the style and form before from him...but somehow I do keep enjoying it! Which is odd, I grant, as generally composers doing the same thing over and over again annoy the hell out of me, but Tyler just keeps on running at my good side.

Maybe it's just because he's so goddamn handsome. The man greatly challenges my heterosexuality. love

Interesting. Nice to see Tyler is at least maintaining franchise continuity by using Walker's main theme.

Although I'm surprised the score was recorded in Prague, as opposed to L.A. where the other three were.

Well, it looks like Tyler in his comfort zone...again (not that I dislike it though). But I like it when he does different kind of jobs like "The Killing Room" (check the Recent Viewing thread for more info) wink

Neither did I. Not that I expected the expertise of Chris Young in this kind of films. See Drag me to Hell for instance: silly movie but very good score, with the usual dose of originality from Young when scoring this kind of films.

It will either be enjoyable like Eagle Eye, or bland like most of AVPR (which sounded good, but had little substance.)

For me, Tyler's "sound" is one of the most enjoyable things around at the moment. The hint at Shirley Walker's theme in "You Can't Dodge Fate" coupled with Tyler's sound is something I'm looking forward to.

Exactly my thoughts. I mean I understand those who find his style always the same no matter if he´s scoring action, horror or whatever. But it has something that i find really addictive. However, I like when he leaves his more over the top style to produce works like The Killing Room or even The Lazarus Project.
