I'm actually going to that with my Dad in Birmingham in a couple of weeks or so!
It was very enjoyable tonight. It was great to hear my friends' reactions, they loved it too. I've seen (relatively) quite a few Williams/Williams themes concerts, but what made it particularly memorable was that fact that I saw it with my friends - all other ones I had gone with my Dad and my brother.
I think I bored them with Williams anecdotes though.

How cool!
I have a small connection there, I once saw the Bournmouth symphony conducted by Ron Goodwin and he played the Star Wars theme. -

When exactly is this??? As you probably know, I'm from Birmingham. Let me know when it is, if you'd like to meet up or anything.... -

2nd of April. The plan was to drive up there and back on that night, but I'll see what time my Dad's planning on leaving. We could meet up before the concert?"Message board incredulity is the least satisfied emotion in human history." - Franz -

Are you both going to join the meeting on April 10 in London. I want some young people too.

Even if we were with many, we'd not be able to replace all your wisdom, experience and knowledge. The meeting would be futile if you all wouldn't attend. I wouldn't even attend myself then. I'd feel too futile. What three C&C releases would you take to the little Island of Misfit Noise? -

*phew* they come thick and fast at the moment, yet another birthday to attend tomorrow night, a very good friend and he owns a pub. I have two mutual friends who no longer live in Bristol coming to stay tomorrow night, I believe that it's going to be a late 'lock-in' so cripes knows what time we'l all come back to mine.

My best mate returns from uni tomorrow for the Easter break so I'll be heading to the pub (somewhere different hopefully) for a few drinks and a good catch up. If there's anything that can cheer me up, it's that.

Anyone have plans this holiday weekend?
I have no commitments whatsoever ( whatta shame the Morricone concert meeting wasn't tomorrow, at least as far as I'm concerned ) and will spend the weekend doing whatever I want.
I think I'll start by killing my neighbours. -

I'm all set to play a giant game of the Call Of Cthulhu board game on Sunday with a load of friends.
I still have very little inkling of what's going on, or of the rules (luckily we have a proper geek amoongst us to continuously explain what we need to do), except I love Lovecraft and the Cthulhu mythos, and generally copious amounts of booze are involved, so a splendid time is had by all (even if we all die or go mad).
The rest of the weekend is relatively free (except for an Easter brunch over at my parents arranged by my sis. Very curious to see what she made of it.

I'm spending my Easter holiday here at our remote summer house on the island of Fur in Denmark. The weather is really shitty right now, lots of wind and rain, but it gives a particular kind of mood to the moors (Moor Moods?) outside. Very "Brontë sisters".
Tomorrow is a big birthday party for my dad, who turns 60 (actually, he has turned already), and we're expecting about 11 guests, mostly friends of my parents. Lots of booze and good food expected, although not in the "let's go get hammered, dance at the disco and check up babes" kindaway. I'll reserve that for our London event next weekened!

I played a game of the Call Of Cthulhu board game a couple of weeks ago. Amazing! Easy to play, easy to learn how to play properly (if guided by a proper connaisseur, which was my case, and it seems to be yours) and very interactive and cooperative among the players (trust me, collaboration is imperative). Great way to spend an afternoon (or night). If you are into Lovecraft and his mythos, I can assure you you´ll love it.
Just one advice: try to close (or seal) as many portals as possible. If not, well, you might get into trouble with a Great Old One..... -

I know. I've played it a couple of times already (with great success and enjoyment), so we're well on the same page as far as collaboration goes. Thing is that I'm just not much of a manual guy, so I'm always glad there's someone around who's a stickler for the rules.

I hadn´t heard of it either until some weeks ago. Quite a discovery! Being a fan of the Call of Cthulhu role playing game it is great to play it on a board, from a different perspective.

A good friend of mine used to run the Call of Cthulhu role playing game, we used to play once a week on a Thursday night ( I supllied the specific background mood music ), I can't remember a character of mine lasting beyond the third week without going insane or being killed. -

Yes, that was quite usual with the Call of Cthulhu role playing game. If you were able to keep a character for a month you were lucky. I´m afraid CoC's characters were facing powers beyond their possibilities. Still, the game is so good we kept playing it even if we knew our characters wouldn´t last more than a few sessions. -

You've become somewhat of a history buff lately, eh? What with the Normandie visit and this one? -

A worthy pursuit IMO
