I think as I use to say you'll "dig it." Been listening to it all morning and each play I discover something new.

Good review, but oooooh dear! I had a listen to some of the sound clips I found on Pirouet's site...and this is DEFINITELY not for me: it's the type of meandering, small-scale improvisational jazz that just seems to oodle its loungesque way through fairly random chord and rhythm changes, without any melody (to speak of).
I am unable to comment on the virtuosity or technical quality.
For me it's far too eclectic, too pointless.
The music is too warped from its origins and the performances too wrapped up in themselves to mean anything to me as a "consumer". I'm not taking anything away from it. I'm not part of it. I'm left emptyhanded.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Crikey, I rather like it! Excellent background music. Exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for in fact! Thanks for the heads up on this one, Tom. -

(I just bought a tweed jacket with elbow patches on it, so this album will go nicely with that.) -
