This "weakest" of Arnold's Bond scores has gradually become a favourite of mine.....at least, once I dodge the horrifying very first track wink

I thought it had a VERY poor CD release. Missing lots and lots of the highlights.

    cheesy

I know the 'mickey mousing' may not be to everyone taste, but there's still plenty there to enjoy for those who don't.

Oh definitely! The highlight for me was one of the tracks Erik mentioned, the awesomely cosmic The Crystal Chamber with full orchestra and choir.

NP Madagascar 2 - Escape to Africa (Hans Zimmer)

    vomit vomit

The first track is really promising (an expanded version of Zoosters Breakout) but after those 4 minutes the rest is the very same crap as the first one. Avoid at all costs.

After the big sounds of JNH, Goodwin and Arnold this beautiful and subtle score by Newman is a perfect way to round things off with. cool

I love the album for Die Another Day. As a score I'm not so sure it helps to make a very bad film any good.

I find all the Bond films, good and bad, watchable. I watched Die Another Day on ITV2 the other night and paid special attention to the music, it certainly doesn't make the film any worse.

The film is right up there with Octopussy as the biggest Bond stinker.

Yeah, great stuff on that complete album. The Erewhon and Loft cues were some of the best writing ever to come out of the MV school.

I keep hearing MV/RC references and references to a bunch of temps. But it's an enjoyable mix.

NP: Perfume: Story of a Murderer (Tykwer/Heil/Klimek)

So beautiful. I never knew the guys who were responsible for electronic scores for films such as Land of the Dead and Run Lola Run were capable of producing such an elegant, awe-inspiring and yet delicate score. Even if the the orchestration and conductor Simon Rattle are more responsible for the end product, it's simply a beautiful and well-performed score nonetheless.

I went to a shopping center today and saw 3 women performing this to promote Yamaha music school! biggrin
So I wanted to listen to the original.

Yup, I do. But I've noticed the OST also has tracks which are NOT on the Oscar promo!! tongue Nevertheless it's a great listening experience.
