I was praising the lord above until Short Circuit flashed up, at which point I had to order that and thought I may as well have the Bernstein and Newman discs as well.

I must admit I think I'm at the point where I have more Bernstein than I really need. He's one of my all-time favourites, a deserved legend - but is there enough variety there to justify having over a hundred of his scores on disc?

At least Intrada's releases tonight are of the barrel-scraping variety so it'll be at least a couple of weeks until the next set of expenditure.

Wow! I would have bet a bundle that Intrada would have released Short Circuit. Anyway, it's a childhood favorite and the only Varese Club release I will be getting from this batch! What a fabulous main title theme.

Th Newman sounds really nice, but it's far from a must-have, and -even though again it's with the "limited edition" shite- I'll be happy to ride this one out till March or so, as tere is way too much coming out now that I can afford not to be very picky right now.

If it's still available in a couple of months, great! And I'll certainly get it!
    If not, tant pis.

    Same thing.
The root somewhere around the time of the Beowulf is "skyte", pronounced as "skeet" or "skite".
While still broadly in use (especially among more rural and northern British communities), it's "shit" that is in fact proper Queen's English (I always wanted to say that biggrin )

    Quite.

    Of vliegende poeper.

No, that would be The Runs.

    Of klutsende darmslingers.

No, that would be your overactive imagination coupled, apparently, with a serious medication-deficiency.

Would you consider doing a review of that one, Tom?
I'm on the fence: I wasn't blown away by the audio clips, but Newman is almost always good.

I'm probably the only one excited about this, but if Chattaway pours the 80's cheese on this one, it could potentially be delightful fun.

I'm getting them all eventually, of that I have no doubt.

That's why Varese just released them! ^___^ So that we'll finally get to hear them!

None of the samples sounded like must-buys for me. I'll pass on yet another Varese batch (I do have to get The Matrix expanded score though).

I think they usually appear at SAE within an hour or so, after they've bought their hundreds of copies! I've never quite understood why anyone wouldn't order direct, though. Is the postage saving really that great?

I've never ordered directly from Varese. Probably because I know that SAE's shipping is usually without any problems. But I have ordered 1 or 2 of their titles (usually Club releases) from Colosseum if the US-based stores have sold out.

If you're interested in only 1 of the Varese CDs then it's cheaper to order it from Intrada/SAE where you can combine the order with other cds from the general catalog.

I hope I don't find anything of interest with the club cds this time. Though, if they put out a Morricone, Delerue, Donaggio or John Scott, I'll blindly pick them up.

Well, I don't own a credit card, so I can't place orders right away, and these limits are selling out in mere seconds these days, so I rely on a friend; I type up stuff for him for his website (like LP notes, trascribing interviews -- just did another a few days ago -- not online yet) and in turn my payment is CDs. It's how I just got "Rent-A-Cop". But he's in another country and there's issues with ordering from certain places, and ScreenArchives seems to be one of the few places he can, so ... savings aren't always the thing.
