  1. Great series of homages to Delerue from various people in the industry. Here's one from Richard Kraft -- which he tells a particularly wonderful story that illustrates just what kind of genius the composer was:

    CRIMES OF THE HEART
    Original Motion Picture Score
Music Composed and Conducted by Georges Delerue

We are thrilled to present this Encore release of one of Georges Delerue’s classic scores from the 1980s. Love the theme, which I have on the 6CD set.
    I am extremely serious.
  3. ^^^ Translation: I will not be buying this watermelon. I prefer a seed from it.

    Sure, if you wish.
    I am extremely serious.
  4. I don't know about that Justin. Usually there's a killer theme in a Delerue score, and in a handful of his scores, it pays to go further and get the whole thing. My experience with a lot of expanded Delerue releases is that the tracks I was really going to play over and over again were usually the ones on the compilations.

I was pointing to Thor's post.

I haven't found a Delerue, personally, that I've hated. Two or three that didn't float my boat, but so far most are lovely.

Analogy fail. The theme is far from a seed. It's a delicious piece of the melon, entirely seedless.

It is one of my favourite Delerue scores though, and there's certainly more to it than just the wonderful theme.

Found the soundtrack album to "Diên Biên Phu" (1992) by Georges Delerue and picked it up just by curiosity. And what a surprise... such a beautiful and elegic album. To my surprise, there are almoste no reviews about it...
Someone here who knows this album too? What do you think?

    All best

I wish I could go back to seeing this film for the first time. It's would be a strange oasis from a time where few films are about anything anymore.
