  1. I think James' meaning is downright clear and he doesn't imply what you said. Fairly correct writing, I think. That's just nitpicking.

didn't like the score one bit. Too bleak, way too raw. I know you can't compare movies and genres, but it lacked color and melody compared to his Hellboy or Gods of Egypt. And of course knowing what the X-Men musical legacy delivered before that

I've only heard snippets of the score, but did see the film and thought the music was pretty blah. And I didn't like movie all that much either. It was depressing and I personally like a little more fun in my comic book movies, even though that's not so popular anymore.

I absolutely LOVED the film -- finally a comic book movie I could enjoy! -- but I was also underwhelmed by the score. It just sat there, doing what it was supposed to; nothing more, nothing less. Which is a shame, because THIS particular film was one that deserved a more original and "present" score.

But Beltrami still remains one of my favourites of that generation. He's allowed a few misfires now and then, IMO.
    I am extremely serious.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I think maybe it was hard for me to get past how violent it was. But I liked being introduced to X-23 and am interested to see if they take her story further in the future.
