The stunning Grant Gershon/LA Phil/LA Master Chorale recording of Itaipu has been re-released by Orange Mountain Music - http://www.philipglass.com/music/record … 3songs.php

Very highly recommended. Now if only someone would do a decent recording of Satyagraha...

ITAIPU <--write it BIG, it's such a goddamn AWESOME work!

I wish someone would rerecord his fantastical The Canyon, it's a piece that will even blow away his nay-sayers.

No, not atonal. It's a bit his style, but with an interesting twist. You might like it more than the usual Glass Martijn. smile

Not too sure about that particular similarity, but the young Glass looks quite a bit like a friend of mine.

If Glass started melting he'd look like the ghost in the subway in the film GHOST.

edit: just looked it up, the actors name is Vincent Schiavelli, recognisable ( unforgettable more like ) from many films.

It's a re-release of the 2nd version on the Orange Mountain label, coupled with some other pieces.

Orange Mountain have also just released 'Violin Concerto No.2 - The American Four Seasons'.
