Yeah it lasts for 3 hours! Perhaps I need to bring a book.

    I suggest bringing an iPod.

Is his opera Akhnaten worth to see?

I like the music (I remember Timmer linking to a piece of it?) but never seen an opera and fear it may just be something I don't understand. But it plays here in Gent next month and there are some cheap tickets left (on the top balcony of the opera, probably not optimal but well, I see it as a tryout).

Yes, but then I would say that. wink

An absence of violins makes the orchestral material quite dark and murky on occasion, but there's some grand reverential writing in it.

Act 3, Scene 2 Attack and Fall is one of my favourite segments.

I have the full conductor's score here - you could probably kill someone with it.

  1. That is thoroughly odd. I can't imagine those two composers' styles mixing well. Nor can I imagine a good superhero score by Philip Glass. It is intriguing, though. I'm certainly looking forward to hearing it more now.
  2. Now this is... unexpected... to say the least.

Certainly surprising news. Maybe Glass is doing what many older actors do in the latter part of their careers, i.e. playing in more action-oriented roles to keep their 'youth' alive. smile

Fixed. My ability to copy and paste appears to be lacking at 5:30am!
  3. Well, the first trailer might explain what they're going for with this.

That said, the music they use is from Broadchurch.
