It's simple. Less shortcuts = tidy, faster computer.

    Faster?
    Not since 1989, mate. slant

    And tidier?
Well, maybe, but a computer is a tool for me. Much as I'd like a tidy shed, I still keep my hammer, drill and pliers where I can get them without even having to turn on the light. I.e. in plain sight, able to get them without even thinking about it.

As you can see, I have dozens of shortcuts on my desktop.
There are all things I want/need immediate access to. I can do so now by one glance, one click.
Otherwise I'd have to rummage around program sub-sub-subfolders or remember dozens of keyboard shortcuts.

Like I said: this really works for me, but then my PC history is one of graphic interfaces.
    It's completely drilled into me.

    Let's revive this topic!

After almost half a year with just a boring black background, I decided to put up a picture again.
Yes, it's my favourite actress again. What do you think?

    Desktop

I think the green in itself is a very ugly colour but I always enjoy choosing a background colour that is somewhere in de picture.
    smile

Oh and as you can see, the weather here is wonderful! :sunny:

Honestly not being a smartass....but who is that? confused

(Nice clean layout by the way...quite different from my clutter. slant

Incidentally: very grey and overcast here, 13 degrees...but beautiful autumn colours. I should take a picture from my window).

Maybe it's the lighting? If it's as dull grey where you are now as it is here then it's hardly ideal conditions for photos.

    It's pretty modern. From 1993, I think?
    It's OK.
There's far more green than you would think from that picture, but I would agree it's not the most "character-full" of places: being the DIY-phobe that I am and with the budget that is available, I desperately need to live in an as maintenance-free zone as possible! (Oh, and it's just a five minutes walk from either the city centre or the train station, which are serious bonuses!).

I expected a warning too. It did say in the screen 'no CF card', but after I could look at the picture I had just taken. So the pictures must be on the camera somewhere??

    Let's revive this one again!!

You know, when I have lots of days off, like now, I really enjoy searching the net for high resolution photos. It's so much fun. The 1920x pics are still sharp on our TV, that looks so cool.

I think a while back 1920x was the largest I could find, now there are many 2560x photos and widescreen too.

Still in Persia mood, but after having searched the net I may change it soon!

P.S. I always feel a bit guilty for not having a photo of my kids on my desktop... I'm not very much a family picture person I guess.
