The Putin chick again? Hasn't your teenage-like lust over her ended already? tongue

Go love a real woman instead
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  1. I'm afraid acting talent plays a part in the attractiveness of a woman for me, so Scarlett heads out the door first for many wasted opportunities since her promising beginnings, and Olga only has a small number of chances left after she pouted her way through QoS.
A butterfly thinks therefore I am
  2. How about her Woody Allen films?
http://www.filmmusic.pl - Polish Film Music Review Website
  3. The recent - Vicky Cristina Barcelona - is good for her part, but I prefer Rebeca Hall and Penelope Cruz (and hey, let's face it, even Javier Bardem!) from the same film. I didn't see Scoop and found her part of Match Point didn't grab me apart from that scene in the rain.

I still hold out some hope for Scarlett. She's got the talent - she just needs to pick better. It might come with time. But she wasn't in Thunderball, so again I'm afraid I don't know why she's being discussed here. You guys who stray off topic are what give the internet a bad name.
  4. She was great in Horse Whisperer and well suited to Lost in Translation.

Another person who wasn't in Thunderball was Maggie Cheung. Anyone else looking forward to her return to cinema this year, even if it is through the lens of Quentin Tarantino?

No. But only because it's through the lens of Quentin Tarantino. If it's accompanied by an original score by Ennio Morricone then perhaps I'll reverse this decision.

I can still look at her silly when I see her in early Jackie Chan films: the dorky teenager look. But then she acted like one too. Years later she emerges in Hero as a ravishing beauty. She looks simply stunning in these Chinese gowns. And I didn't know she got Tarantino's attention as well.

With Scarlet around Olga can go take a hike.

However, I doubt Steven would climb over Olga to get to you D.

I'm in the process of watching a film called "The Beast With One Million Eyes," a real stinker of a picture.

No, only a few. They're doing it in (seemingly random) batches. I'll probably buy the Connery ones, be more selective about the rest. Glad I never got round to buying any of them on DVD now.

That's fine for you to say, but I've had them all on DVD for years! I even bought the 3 disc version of Casino Royale when it came out so I've already got two copies of that. As much as i want it on Blu-Ray as well I think I should wait. shame

Haven't watched this for many years until last night's Blu-Ray viewing. An excellent Bond film! And maybe Connery's ultimate Bond performance?

I do like Connery in this one, but I always found it the weakest of the Connery outings (mainly due to the interminable underwater scenes).

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON

Loved every bit of it; great acting, touching and strong story with very meaningful, deep and realistic life-based meanings. Certainly leaves a lot to be thought after once you've seen it, great thoughtful score. I like a lot of films i've seen but rarely do i come out of the cinema NOT wanting to change anything in the film i've just seen; such is the case with BB. I think it's a very mature, thoughtful film and i've thoroughly enjoyed it.

As for the score, works wonders in the film and is certainly a very touching, special gem for 2008.

    Rambo [4]

Badly cast, terrible acting, dodgy CGI in places... but quite good! I'm glad that Stallone had the balls to actually show a child being killed. The village raid moments are quite well done. The music, although quite fun on CD, is generic action filler music with absolutely no soul whatsoever. The best bits, shockingly, were when Tyler used Goldsmith's themes.

It's a silly, dumb, action movie. But it does at least have a point: Bad shit happens in bad places, and it's not afraid to show us that.

I must admit, I fell asleep during this, so my opinion that it was a pile of crap may not be entirely fair (I suppose I might have missed the part of it that wasn't). I'm going to give it another go sometime - it does have the benefit of being reasonably short.

My only surprise is that you are shocked that the best parts of the score are where Tyler brings the Goldsmith themes out! Surely that's the least surprising thing EVER?

Good movie indeed. I hadn't seen any of the odd Wes Anderson films, which i'm now going to look after. Darjeeling is a bizarre movie, though it doesn't always connect while watching, which is part of that weird feeling and odd story that rails through it. I was surprised to see Owen Wilson (as I usually can't stand him, and here he plays exactly that sort of character, until in the end, you will like him as much as the other 2 brothers). I love this kind of movie, where my eyebrow raises in a good way. Also, the visuals were sometimes extraordinary colourful (those suitcases!) and the used songs and score made for a fine combination. I liked the main theme song btw, catchy melody!
