    Cheers Erik. This looks like it could be useful - if I knew anything about what's required for an NAS, or how to set one up!

    The thing with Plex is that all you need is a computer and a hard drive. As long as your computer is on, you point Plex to where your music is, and then you are able to listen to your music anywhere... from another computer, over your TV, etc. If you want to listen via smartphone you need a PlexPass, which isn't too expensive, but it's a good way to access your music (and digital movies if you have them) on the go.

    I think that an NAS setup may be too complicated for what I need. I just want dedicated storage (a computer just for storing my files), a setup so that that PC/laptop can communicate with my soundbar, and a way that it can all be controlled. It sounds like Plex can do the later. I would need to see how to link everything together.
