For me anyway, the "Hollywood FX extravaganzas" always trivialise to some extent these natural wonders.
Firstly, there's always a slight doubt as to whether what you are watching on places like YouTube is actually real and not an SFX (this one looks genuine). And, secondly, these natural wonders are things that we see all the time in these over-the-top movies. Imagine how much more visually arresting it would be if we had never seen this sort of thing before? Now we are awed because it is real rather than just being a movie special effect. The views expressed in this post are entirely my own and do not reflect the opinions of maintitles.net, or for that matter, anyone else. http://www.racksandtags.com/falkirkbairn -

Now THAT's massive. Beats most Hollywood FX extravaganzas!
I missed this on Alan's original post. The first minute I've actually seen with my own eyes in the Himalaya and that was more than awesome enough but it didn't turn into what is filmed there. Seeing anything like this with your own eyes is way beyond anything a cinema screen with Hollywood effects can offer, way, Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy beyond. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

What a weird, random attack, though. The dog looks perfectly calm, the kid is no threat, and then it just walks around the car and bites him. WTF?!I am extremely serious. -

Nope.
Working against decades of stereotyping in cartoons, all cats are, in fact, super heroes.
Dogs, indeed, are insane and evil.

It's only Batman who remotely looks a bit like a cat, without a tail.

Just been out in the garden with the scope we use for our birding, looking for Saturn. Great views with the rings tilted so that they are obvious to see.
It still amazes me when I see such a weird shape in the sky! This isn't a photo of mine but it gives a sense of what Saturn looked like:

Certainly the bit where he breaks down on camera, not because of some Oprah-like display of I GOT THE THING THAT I WANTED... but because his friends have died in war.
