I was surprised by the Lookout and Assassination of Jesse James being nominated since I haven't heard much buzz about them and haven't heard them either. I was expecting Atonement, Ratatouille, and Eastern Promises to be on the 'best of' and awards lists. I guess this will encourage me to find some clips.

Hm, I'm really interested in Iglesias' The Kite Runner. Iglesias always comes up with something beautiful. This great story has some wonderful opportunities for some wonderful music... Has anyone heard the score already?

Kite Runner is quite good, but not superb. An excellent first half, but the second half doesn't really hold the interest. Some cues will end in my favourite cues of 2007 though, Kite Shop and the Main Titles. My pick of these nominations would be Kite Runner or Ratatouille.

Good to see The Assassination of Jesse James getting nominated! Outstanding film and injustly overlooked by the audience.

I'm hoping for Jesse James to win in the score department, I know it'll win in the cinematography department, but I'm betting on Atonement to win 'best score', which wouldn't be a shame either smile Of course, The Kite Runner would also deserve it...

Ah, well, it can't really go very wrong with this. And even if so, it's just the Sattelite's tongue

Haven´t listened "The Assassination of Jesse James" to be honest, but I´d give the Award to Giacchino´s "Ratatouille" without a doubt. One of the best scores of 2007, and one of the better (if not the best) within the film.

As for the song, I couldn´t care less , I´d ban the songs from all the awards.

I'd not place WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE in such a list...it's pleasant and small-scale but certainly ages behind BAARIA, or AGORA for instance. Where are they btw, in this list? FAIL.

    How's up in the air?

  3. They probably haven't seen BAARIA or AGORA, as neither have a US release, and these are US-based awards.
