Tim, have you checked out Elfman's S.O.P. yet? As I've said, if there's ONE Elfman soundtrack you should check out that I'm 99% certain you will like, it's this, esp. knowing your taste for Philipp Glass.
    I am extremely serious.

It's still on my 'must hear' list. Just so much to catch up on and yet at the same time, like yourself, I've drastically cut back on my soundtrack buying.

Isn't the Morley cd a new one? How cheap did you get it for?
That Morricone is lovely. "Beth says no" is to die for!

S.O.P was one of my fave scores of last year. The first Elfman cd I've bought in a long time. But what a depressing film! sad

I've only heard the Morricone in the film and remember liking it, which is why I picked it up. I'm really looking forward to hearing it properly after your comment smile

The Morley was released in 2003.

    Both were £4 each cool

Ditto! This is easily one of the strangest things I've ever read on a film music board.

This was a second hand copy and a bit cheaper than a ordering it new again....
I'm not going for Dutch scores in particular.
  4. Kill Bill Vol. 1 (Various artists)
Kill Bill Vol. 2 (Various artists)

Quentin Tarantino doesn't need film composers for his work, when he has such a spot on feel for great songs that just fit the scenes they accompany.

I always expect great things from the musical contributions whenever a new Tarantino film appears.

    Horst Rickels - 4 Elements

There's a official Dutch score release, but the price just never seemed to drop. Then I discovered the dvd release contained the score as an extra and bought it for a more reasonable price.

Even Heroes and Revenge of the Fallen?

I'd give a reserved recommendation for Heroes. There are parts of it that I really like but other portions are filler. I'd recommend picking it up if you find it cheap: it's such an iconic soundscape for a (at the outset anyway) good TV show.

As far as Revenge of The Fallen is concerned, I have a soft spot for Jablonsky in this mode so I may be praising this one a bit too much. But, it's a follow-up to a great first score and if I'm in a generous mood I can justify liking this because of it's musical development from the original score. (And it takes some of the themes from the first score and sets them in a new setting.)

I'd be interested in how you learned about the Ataturk score, and what it is like, Alan?
Also: what is "Britain From Above"? Some documentary series?
