61 min of score. Tracks aren't in chronological order, I guess for the better listening experience.

indeed, most seems in order, but several are totally misplaced
we'll see if this enhances the experience or not

now only Sunshine on CD and Murphy's discography is complete for most

it is not his best (from what I remember when seeing the movie), but that opening theme is classic Murphy and is the best piece (perhaps the only piece) worth hearing

The rest worked in the movie but I don't remember much from it

perhaps, it is effective but perhaps not good enough for such a long length
that main theme though should receive a place on a Murphy compilation album

His complete score for MIAMI VICE (before it was partly replaced by songs and other composers) is cool as well.

Utterly charming film! And the score is my fave of his. It has his usual throbbing/repetitive rhythms (like in 28 Days Later) but also some gorgeous melodies (like Edward Scissorhands).

His 28 days / weeks later scores take thriller / horror scoring to levels that this music hasn't gone before. Ambient, rock influenced, grungy and psychedelic with strong doses of emotion and even hints of melodY. Gripping, emotional listens.

I'm glad he's scoring Kick-Ass, which will probably be one of his highest profile projects to date (the movie's getting incredible buzz and there was even a bidding war between studios for the rights to release it).

The guy deserves a break like this, hopefully it will lead to bigger projects.

NEW PROJECT FOR THE KICK-ASS COMPOSER

"John Murphy has been confirmed as the new composer on board to compose original score music for Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming action comedy Kick-Ass. Murphy, whose previous credits include 28 Days Later, Sunshine and Snatch, is the third composer on the project – the two others are Ilan Eshkeri (who scored Vaughn’s previous film, Stardust) and Marius De Vries (best known for his musical direction on Moulin Rouge!), and according to MovieScore Magazine’s music by all three might very well end up in the final cut of the picture."
