What are some of your favorite "fun" scores that just make you laugh, smile, feel energized, whatever.
Easily American Outlaws by Trevor Rabin is one of those scores for me. It's just silly and adventurous and well, fun. I love the energy, the violins, the melody. -

Independence Day, Cutthroat Island, Legend of Zorro, Hook, Blizzard, and (Albeit a score with one 5 second theme repeated over and over (wasn't is something like that, James?)), I really enjoy Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas.
Edit: And Ratatouille, and Iron will! -

Yeah...United 93...a real fun score.
But there are a lot. Evolution, Cody Banks, Paycheck and Bolt to name a few of the best... -

I've phased more and more out of bombastic scores over the years, and more into calmer territory, which is a bit unfortunate, since the majority of my collection consists of scores that are in some ways quite bombastic and adventurous due my childhood and teenage predisposition.
But some "fun" soundtrack experiences are things like old John Williams 60's comedies or Elfman stuff like PEE-WEE, BEETLEJUICE, NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS or CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY or 80's synth grooves like the work of Faltermeyer, Hammer, Moroder etc.
But if keeping this to "fun" swashbuckling adventure soundtracks, which I guess was more your idea, I would vote for things like...
CUTTHROAT ISLAND (like everyone else)
THE PHANTOM
the STAR WARS'es (duh!)
THE MUMMY and THE MUMMY RETURNS
HOOK
the INDIANA JONES'es (again: duh!)
FIRST KNIGHT
WILLOW
CRIMSON TIDE
THE ROCK
THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD
ROBIN HOOD - PRINCE OF THIEVES
THE THREE MUSKETEERS
THE MUSKETEER
WATERWORLD
ARMY OF DARKNESS
Those are just some off the top of my head.
Hey, I made a list!!I am extremely serious. -

Can I just say that the most entertaining and "fun" soundtrack I own, is probably this fan-made compilation of the aforementioned electronic anthems:

Back cover:

This is probably the most-spinned soundtrack I have at the moment!I am extremely serious. -

KRULL
But for shear feel good fun what the frig can beat Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK? Great score by George Bruns and immortal songs by the Sherman brothers the like of which have never been equalled or bettered since. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -
- CommentTimeApr 25th 2009 edited
I agree that KRULL has its fun moments ("Ride of the Firemares" etc.), but it really has a BIG portion of "horror" music, at least on the 2CD set. One of the CD's is almost exclusively sturm-und-drang or sneaking-around stuff. And horror music isn't my idea of fun.I am extremely serious. -

I'm going "golden age" here.
The Sea Hawk - Korngold, The Adventures of Robin Hood - Korngold, Adventures of Don Juan - Steiner
Love the old stuff! -
- CommentTimeApr 26th 2009
Those are definitely my three favourite Golden Oldies. -

It's only been mentioned once, so I'll just repeat it as it is my ALL TIME, UNABASHED, SMILE ON MY FACE, BEST FUN SCORE EVER:
Chicken Run - John Powell and that other guy
It's got frigging KAZOOS, man!
'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Kinda like what Atham said. (I agree though, it's one of my favourite scores ever.) -

Zimmer's Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimarron can be added here too. Run Free is especially one of the best "adventure" tracks I ever heard!
