    Friends,

My new choral work, a 30 minute a cappella piece in six movements entitled "Rainbow Suite", was recently premiered by the Haga Motettkor in Gothenburg, Sweden. I was hoping that some of you would be interested in having a listen, so the full thing is up for you here:

    1. Lux Perpetua (Red) - http://www.mikaelcarlsson.com/audio/1_red.mp3
    2. Heal You (Orange) - http://www.mikaelcarlsson.com/audio/2_orange.mp3
    3. I am Your Sunlight (Yellow) - http://www.mikaelcarlsson.com/audio/3_yellow.mp3
    4. Natural Lovers (Green)- http://www.mikaelcarlsson.com/audio/4_green.mp3
    5. Harmony of Dissonance (Blue)- http://www.mikaelcarlsson.com/audio/5_blue.mp3
    6. The Spirit Within (Violet) - http://www.mikaelcarlsson.com/audio/6_violet.mp3

Please note that parts of this recording has some noise: there was a dancer who performed mostly in-between the movements, but also during the music, and also the choir did not stand in the same place throughout the whole performance. Hopefully, we will do a CD recording of the work, and that would not include such a long 3-minute cluster build-up as the first movement here does, this was done ad lib in cooperation with the dancer.

    Enjoy!

Mikael, your choral material is top-notch. Emotion, elegance and melody are the primal characters that charm me, as well as the sacred character evoking Part, Tavener and co. I couldn't urge you enough to record them properly in a more enclosed, direct environment as a big studio that will bring out the warmth and complete dynamics of your music which get somewhat lost amidst the distant, weak recording and surface noise. It deserves it, go for it! Or better, come down to our studios in Greece and i'll record it for you wink wave
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

How can I NOT love something performed by a choir named Haga (which happens to be my own last name!). smile

That said, these are lovely pieces, quite challenging but at the same time appealing. Would love to hear a more nuanced recording. Like Demetris, I also got a Tavener vibe here.
    I am extremely serious.
