Me neither Tom, but I do love his Bond score and I very much enjoy The Swimmer which was released by FSM a year or so ago, Sophie's Choice is a lovely and melancholic little score ( to one of the most crushingly powerful films I've ever seen ) but the score I'd really love to get released is his score to Woody Allen's Bananas.

  3. I'm only familiar with one of his scores. Can anyone make any suggestions?

"Sophie's choice" is an excellent score if you like romantic music.

I am planning an interview with Marvin, any questions you want answered? I'll esp. appreciate stuff that isn't ordinary smile
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

Yes, ask him if anyone has said that he looks a bit like Bernard Herrmann.

No, seriously, I don't know. I'll have to think about it. Cool gig, though! In what connection are you interviewing him? For maintitles?
    I am extremely serious.
  4. Kritzerland Records has released -- with no other label announcing on the same day... -- the score to:
    "Romantic Comedy"

I can't comment as I no longer have access to a computer with speakers.

    Oh. Not so old either.

I only know him from that one time he was guest of honour in Ghent. A very funny person and easy talker. I liked the music and songs they played back then, but that's my only experience with his music.

  6. I was surprised as well, especially considering we saw him just a couple of years ago. As Bregt pointed out, quite the easy talker and his music was surely appreciated that evening. Sad to hear that, 68 is way too young.

Sad news. I don't have as much of his film music as I'd like (I'm probably more familiar with his non-film work) but it generally has an infectiously cheerful quality which I find most endearing. He seemed from various tv appearances to be an extremely nice, humble man, too.

His final score, The Informant, is a real gem.

Hamlisch wrote a cracking theme for Save The Tiger and the use of Pachelbel's popular 'Canon in D' in Ordinary People sounds intriguing.
