I think the main theme from The Help is absolutely great, and the last track was one of my favourites of last year. I agree that the whole cd is not that interesting. Also saw the film because of the score. I actually really liked it, even though it was a bit schmaltzy now and then. It's a fine story.Kazoo -

Yeap, really nice cd, but hidden very deep in the not-so-good movie, unfortunately.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Good. Maybe they can release Phenomenon, Less Than Zero, and Men Don't Leave, just to name a few. -

Yes yes yes!! One of the most underrated scores ever. Newman should do more East Asian music. -

I wonder if enjoying Newman's more offbeat scores like Red Corner requires a certain mindset or mood. There are some tracks on that I consider genius, like the opening title track, "Full Scale Incident", "Dazhalan Chase", and "Black", that many people (including this reviewer) did not like.
I can say the same thing about Jarhead, The Salton Sea, White Oleander, Pay It Forward, and In the Bedroom, among others. -

I wish Newman did more downtempo, ambient affairs like BROTHERS.I am extremely serious. -

You and me together, mate.
That film just goes ON and ON and ON and ON...urgh...
(Hell is probably having to watch Meet Joe Black for all eternity...which pretty much suggests that it's actually one viewing, come to think of it).'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn
