Those scores are absolutely fantastic, especially within the movies. Desplat would certainly get my approval! (Which is all any composer needs quite frankly.)

Again - He has already written a Bondish score. I want to hear something different! Something other than orchestral techno.

Nah, Silvestri tries to use electronics and fails on an impressive level. rolleyes

Horner...qualifies, but do you really want the danger motif to be the new Space March?

I've heard the last one, it's horrible. One of the most misplaced and misjudged scores in the history of cinema!

I was goofing! However, I like the Romancing The Stone score given that it was done on the cheap... the very, very cheap.

I can't stand it. But in all seriousness, Contact has some excellent use of synth! (I'd add The Abyss to that list, but I don't think many will agree with me on that one.)

    Avantgarde jazz? uhm
    No thanks!

I think it would be bloody brilliant to actually move a step back now that the character's established himself as one unpleasant, cold son of a bitch, and NOT let the music echo that continuously.
In keeping with the sense that it should be a British composer (call me Romantic, but I agree that just seems proper), I'd love to see John Scott have a go.

    Failing that: MURRAY GOLD!

    Good choices....GOOD CHOICES!!!! applause beer

As for Blanchard, if you think he's just avantgarde jazz then you obviously haven't heard much of him.

But that would be the only interest I would have. As it is, I'm always interested in the new Bond scores whoever they may be scored by.
