Isn't Craig's Bond supposed to be closer to Ian Fleming's original conception of the character than any of the previos ones?

No! Ian Fleming personally wanted Noel Coward to play Bond.....go figure. wink

  1. Loved him in Casino Royale which is a fine Bond film, its sequel is not.

So looking forward to his return in another film that makes sense like CR did.

Casino Royale was a great film, and perfect set-up for a Bond film. Quantum was a poor continuance of that. Hopefully, this next one actually has more of a Bond character.

Craig's biggest problem is his Bond does not have class, nor is suave. Hopefully in this third film they can remedy this, as his character's experience has grown, and has hopefully had the chance to mature and grow more confident.

Gothca. Well Craig's take isn't my personal favorite. He did some great things, but I think abandoned some basic character aspects that are important.

I think that Dalton is one of the most skilled actors of the six as a whole.

I always liked Dalton as Bond, besides from Connery he's my favourite Bond.
    waaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Where's my nut? arrrghhhhhhh
  3. But dude, we've never seen Connery do Bond... at least I haven't. shame

This is something you must remedy Gilles. Tell you what. You should take a vacation to Florida, and one night we can have a Connery Bond marthaon at my place. We can skip Diamons Are Forever and Never Say Never Again. Having not seen the Connery Bonds you should be aware. If there is a driver there don't get in the car with him unless your sure it is me. A Dr. No sort of fella could have sent him.

Here is a way to make sure it's me. You play James Bond.

James Bond: Pardon me, do you have a match?
    Kerim's Chauffeur: I use a lighter.
    James Bond: Better still.
Kerim's Chauffeur: Until they go wrong.
    James Bond: Exactly.

I watched Goldfinger a couple of nights ago with my girlfriends parents. Her dad is a huge Bond fan, and my girlfriend had never seen a Connery Bond before. The beginning with the "Man talk" bum slap scene was a great. Her dad and I immediately started laughing and Nicole, my girlfriend, and her mother rolled their eyes.

More of a bonding time with her dad perhaps. slant

This past summer he took me up flying over Destin beach in his Moony. I suppose if he wanted to have had a few words, he could have done so then. wink

I guess you mean http://www.mooney.com/index.php ? If yes, and he has a plane and he gave you a ride, you officially have the world's greatest girlfriend father. Never mind the actual gf, stay just for the father.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

Javier Bardem will play the bad guy. While his role in No Country For Old Men is excellent, I think he would do quite well as a suit wearing menace.

Who says he'll be wearing suit. Maybe his character is a homeless evil overlord living on the streets gathering scraps and loose change to help him build and army of homeless people in his quest to rule the world.

I think Mads Mikkelsen in Casino Royale did a good job to give his character a bit more nastiness than the usual villains of the later films. The torture scene for example.

But if you're talking about the really crazy, totally loopy out of their mind villains, that has been a while indeed.
