  2. Had a read of your article Tom and I was interested in your summation of this suite from Copland.

    I must admit though that I don't listen to this suite (nor the Slatkin CD as a whole) very often - from what I remember of the music it's a bit too Americana for my tastes. Copland in his Something Wild mode is much more to my liking!

    It is a lot of Americana I'll be the first to admit. I have compared Copland to the famous British composer Vaughan Williams. Williams is to Britain as Copland is to America.
