I'm always curious to know what accents people like and dislike the most? I only speak English, so I only recognize accents in the English language, but this thread can apply to any accent in any language.

We discussed that very subject a little while ago. smile

It's very hard to have any kind of judgement on any language you're not actually fluent in, but generally I like a more mellifluous accent over a harsher one (exceptions: cockney and Parisian, both of which I think are great).

There's something extraordinary about girls speaking English with a Scottish or French accent (for the longest time thought *I* was weird, but apparently more people...well, men feel that way, so I feel somewhat relieved dizzy ).

I absolutely love anyone speaking Brazilian Portuguese.
I absolutely hate anyone speaking Portuguese Portuguese. wink

I think all western villains should have Spanish accents.

Don't swear about that... I once met a gorgeous man. The guy was a stud! And I'm not easily impressed. But when he opened his mouth and spoke I wanted to run from the room screaming. the worse accent I've ever heard!

Can't believe I forgot that one.

Also, a slight Southern American accent can be quite lovely. Most of the time it goes to far (ultimate turn-off).
