No, they won't. Aaron Eckhart said that he's definitely dead.

Of course he did. I read that article too. That is what Nolan said to him. What would you expect him to say though. wink
    Things can change.
It would be very easy to bring him back for another.
    What a great villain too.
  1. Actually, that was in response to a question about a possible sequel for him, so I think Nolan was fr real.

I would say it's time for the Catwoman to come in now.
If only because then the story might actually revolve more around Bats and Wayne rather than the villain.

That would be great. Especially since he will be falling short in the love interest area.
  2. I think Nolan quite openly ruled Catwoman out. Or was it Penguin?

Most likely Penguin. That would just be stupid, You need something somewhat plausible. Not a fat guy with an umbrella and flipper hands.
  3. Yes, that was his explanation exactly.

I'm waiting to see Nolan being confirmed as director. He did an outstanding job on the previous two films (especially TDK) and I think he should be the one to continue directing the rest. Will keep a watch for news regarding this.

I've always had a weak spot for the penguin as a villain, and as Tim Burton has shown, it is very easy to turn the seemingly ridiculous into something that is very dark and macabre.

I think Nolan needs to give the character just a little push to make him as disturbing as any of teh Batvillains so far.

Anyway, it's all conjecture so far, obviously.

DeVito's Penguin was nothing short of brilliant!

It might be easy money for them, if the pattern of themes continues. Batman Begins had a two-note theme; and Zimmer proudly talked about The Dark Knight having a one-note theme. So, extrapolating...

A... zero note theme? THAT would be revolutionary! :P

    It's official:

Anne Hathaway (Love and Other Drugs, Ella Enchanted) will play Selina Kyle/Catwoman, while Tom Hardy (Inception) will play Bane. Christian Bale will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. It's assumed Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman will return, but no confirmation on that yet.
