    Was there any doubt? confused

  1. I think Nolan IS onboard, they said that nobody returns if he doesn't.

There was. The condition sine qua non of doing it was Nolan's return and he considered not going back after Ledger died.

    Hmmm...sounds like hearsay to me.
I doubt very seriously they'd do another Joker film, even had Ledger lived.
That's jus not how the Batman franchise works: too many villains!
(If they'd contemplated a clear tripticle with one villain, or one encompassing storyarc, they'd have started that off in Batman Begins)

  3. It's not the fact that they didn't want or did want to do another Joker film. The death came to Nolan as a personal tragedy, because a common idea has it that the way Ledger prepared for the part of Joker led to his demise. It was a personal rather than professional thing.

  4. Oh, and this issue was admitted by few actors, including Gary Oldman.

Have an article on that by chance?
  5. Either Coming Soon or AICN was writing about that. Not sure which one.

indeed, so if Nolan doesn't return then it means nobody else should ever touch it

no other director will screw this one up, if Nolan did so much to make the first 2 as good as can be

Nolan's BATMAN is a TOP franchise in all aspects and many should take not before they bombast us with their amateurism and draftness ; i am very glad it's resuming!
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

Me too, although it will be extremely difficult for them to make a better sequel than The Dark Knight.

I have trust in Nolan; he's one of the most gifted ones from the younger generation of film-makers, and not just for his Batman films.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  9. Much as I'd like to see another great film from this team, the odds of them pulling off a film better than the last would be pretty rough. Quit while you're ahead?
A butterfly thinks therefore I am
  10. That's what the producers are saying, so if Batman 3 is a go, then Nolan is onboard.

Even if it isn't as good, it will still probably be vastly superior to most other blockbusters. And its a guaranteed profit for Warner Brothers, so they should definitely make at least one more if Nolan is back.

There's a lot of sense in that - but on the other hand, Nolan strikes me as the kind of guy who would thrive under such a challenge.

It might be easy money for them, if the pattern of themes continues. Batman Begins had a two-note theme; and Zimmer proudly talked about The Dark Knight having a one-note theme. So, extrapolating...
  11. Actually, I think they will do something a bit different, because the villain is supposed to be Riddle Man (name?). The considered actor for that part is Johnny Depp.

I'm hoping though, that they simply bring back Two-Face. Plus add another villain to the mix.
  12. No, they won't. Aaron Eckhart said that he's definitely dead.

I would say it's time for the Catwoman to come in now.
If only because then the story might actually revolve more around Bats and Wayne rather than the villain.
