And now for something completely different.
A recent post of someone I know gave me this idea.
I've loved what these guys have done with comedy since the day I was old enough to understand their undeniable talent for the most absurd humour. While Monty Python came first and I love many of their classic sketches, it was Fawlty Towers (featuring only John Cleese of the Python crew) that never ceases to get me rolling on the floor with it's outrageous scenarios and genius comedic timing of the actors involved.
To get the ball rolling: this is perhaps one of the most funny scenes in the show, which only lasted for 12 episodes, sadly.

Haha, John Cleese is just so on the target, never saw that sketch before, good find.
I have another classic.
Ministry of Silly Walks
Or this great scene from Life of Brian.

I'm a big fan of MP (except for the animations). Terry Gilliam didn't appear in sketches often, but the 5 remaining members were all brilliant. Graham Chapman and John Cleese are probably my favorites.
A couple of great sketches:

I've always considered them a waste of time. It's like a commercial break between the sketches, to go and make coffee and no.1 and then return when the fun resumes.
That said, I admit there would be something missing without them, as they are kinda part of the MP experience.

Those zany animations made you appreciate the extreme silliness of the sketches even more. They are commercials if you will, so your laugh muscles can have a rest.
Haha, great one, Confuse-a-Cat. Another one I missed.
The restaurant sketch, "And now the punchline". Bloody brilliant !!!"considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

LIFE OF BRIAN is pure genius! Thanks for the thread, i'll revisit and watch the links posted when i have more time!Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

Those animations are, to me, often MORE funny than the actual skits themselves!I am extremely serious. -

It's the mix that does it for me: that weird semi-Victorian look in an excercise in pure surrealism that supports the skits magnificently. One couldn't be without the other.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

And a totally ridiculous scene from The Holy Grail.
French knights taunting King Arthur
Incidentally I always thought that score used in that film is great, full of memorable fanfares. I would love to have it released one day."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

I need to look up Holy Grail and Life of Brian on DVD. I wasn't too fond of (still great) Meaning of Life, but I was amazed by Holy Grail.http://www.filmmusic.pl - Polish Film Music Review Website -

The Meaning of Life is the least of the films, LOL-wise. It being their last film (I think) they were struggling to get the same standard as before in the sketches. But it's still every bit as Pythonesque and required viewing."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G.
