Harry Gregson-Williams: The Taking of Pelham 123

Harry Gregson-Williams is going to score his sixth film directed by Tony Scott: the remake of the 1974 subway hijacking drama The Taking of Pelham 123.

Indeed. The very project though, is a Tony Scott and for a very weird reason i am a sucker for Hgw-Tony Scott films, all of them, i've enjoyed them immensely and i am always looking forward for the next one!

  1. Whatever Gregson-Williams does, it's not going to be any better than David Shire's brilliant score. One thing you can be sure of is that there'll be more music in the remake compared to the original.

Haven't heard the original but i am sure HGW's score will be in the same vein as his other TONY SCOTT scores.

Blimey O'Reilly. How utterly depressing in every respect.

sleep sleep They'll make a remake remake...
    (the process begins anew)

Actually, if you think about it, alot of films are remakes... just a twisted version of their original.
(For a modern example compare Indy1 and Pirates of the Caribbean1)

  3. That I've heard.

The thing is that I'm kinda sucker for Tony Scott style. Haven;t seen his last two efforts, though heard Domino is just plain stupid. I'd see Deja Vu.

And HGW just works great. Especially in MoF.

You can skip Deja Vu. Don´t waste your time. I´m a fan of Tony Scott since "True Romance", but Deja Vu is horrible.

More than plain stupid, Domino was complete and utter fookin shite! I want compensation from Scott for wasting two hours of my life and money that would have been better spent on beer!

True Romance I enjoyed but Scott mostly leaves me cold and I ain't seen anything he's done since Domino.

Cos they're a big factor in raising the sales of the album, seeing the ratio of mainstream music listeners to film music fans is like 600 : 1 or something tongue

You´re right, it was more a rhetorical question tongue
But man I hate it! Even more when the composer has nothing to do with them (I dunno if it´s the case here). They may be good if they´re based on the composer´s themes or tunes; if not....then they use to suck.
