    Obama gets this year's Nobel Peace Prize.

    The Norwegian Nobel committee just announced it:

    Personally, I'm a little on the fence here. I'm pro-Obama, but I always thought this prize should go to someone who has actually DONE something for world peace and not merely for whatever VISIONS he or she may have.

    That said, this prize COMMITS, and let's hope that this constitutes a valuable pressure on the "world's most powerful man".
    I am extremely serious.

    I think it's a good thing he got the award, if only just to encourage Obama. His intentions are definitely worthy of praise, but let's wait and see how well they're carried out. (Nothing is simple and there are obviously no quick-fix solutions to these problems, but he's infinitely more suited for the job than the previous president. rolleyes cool )

    First time i hear someone being awarded for his intentions, rather than his actions though. It's one thing to encourage someone, to which i agree, but this is a bit over-stretched. I could be intending to write an oscar-winnning score one day and talk to everyone about it for instance, but i don't see me getting that award just for my good intentions wink

    I agree! I'm pro-Obama but I just don't get why he's being given this award so prematurely.
