  2. If the reports of attempted transactions being made using the credit cards of the crash victims are true then that's another horror to add to this whole situation.

I cannot comprehend how these people are able to do such a thing. I hope these people can be caught.

  3. Same thing happened after the plane crash that took the lives of our politicians and president in Smolensk. Some Russian officers stole and tried using credit cards.

    They were caught.

Although I'm aware that such senseless death occurs on a regular basis every day somewhere in the world, this tragedy has filled me with so much anger that I almost entered a rage just thinking about it today. I feel so fucking sorry for the families of the victims and even Malaysian Airlines themselves - so much bad luck this year (I'm actually booked to fly with them in two weeks time). I don't even want to say what I think the individuals responsible deserve. Horrible, horrible stuff.

  5. I was reading that the missile may have been one that exploded when it was near the plane and accounts for the damage seen?

Yes, indeed. It's called missile shrapnel . The warhead of the missile explodes near the plane (just a few meters away) and the warhead is filled with all kinds of bullets, nails, metals which are exploded towards the target with tremendous speed and in all directions which causes massive, destructive damage. Nothing left. Utter killing machine. Russian made, buk sa-11 missile system. The evidence on the wreckage suggests as such, along with US satellite data but of course Putin keeps whistling carefree.

  6. Those close ups of belongings and cloths are heartwrenching. This a sad day for The Netherlands and the other nations involved. There are some harrowing stories and poems going round; and it's amazing how deep into the soul they cut. Today they're coming home -- and that's all that matters for now.

At least, yeah, they can find some peace at home. Hopefully they did a good job gathering the dead 'cause i read around reports that suggest a lot of human remains are still trapped in the wreck. What a mess. I really hope that when all's done , the international community as one, will find the balls to punish whoever proves to be responsible for all of this.

  7. It is a terrible mess. They have not got all the bodies - but it is yet to be determined where the remaining ones are (still in the field? in rebel's hands? obliterated in the explosion?).

That's a nasty missile. One would hope that, at least, it was quick.

Many bodies were ( looked like ) "thrown" onto the back of a truck, the refrigerator trains refrigeration broke down overnight with hundreds of bodies in it.... The incompetence and lack of respect is staggering, when the Dutch investigators were finally allowed to inspect the bodies they were wearing face masks because of the stench. This whole thing is multiple kinds of wrong.

I heard the weather is baking out there. As disgusting as it sounds it only takes maggots a few days to devour something as small as a human body, even less if it is in parts. Every day that goes by means less and less is left for people to retrieve.

Even US did it at least once:

Iran Air Flight 655 (IR655) was a commercial flight operated by Iran Air that flew from Bandar Abbas, Iran to Dubai, UAE. On July 3, 1988, towards the end of the Iran-Iraq War, the aircraft flying IR655 was shot down by the U.S. Navy Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Vincennes when it fired a RIM-66 Standard surface-to-air missile. The airplane was destroyed between Bandar Abbas and Dubai; all 290 passengers and crew died. USS Vincennes was in Iranian waters at the time of the attack, and IR655, an Airbus A300, was allegedly misidentified as an Iranian F-14.[22]

  8. Isn't Lockheed's C130 Hercules simply the most amazing airplane ever made? It's been around since the mid 50s and still is such a string, versatile and reliable plane. Seeing it come into focus today over Eindhoven, with Australia's C17 close behind, was one helluva emotional sight. Couldn't have asked for a better "friend" to carry those people home.

How scary it must be to be stuck in the air right now on a commercial flight from Doha in Qatar to Manchester, England being escorted by a RAF Typhoon jet fighter. All flights in and out of Manchester have been suspended.

    Thankfully they've now landed.
