Good work. I like Isham - he's underrated - but he went through a phase of just scoring too many films and not writing anything particularly great for any of them. You've covered some of his better recent scores there (except Lions for Lambs). Pleased to see some love for Crash, which I think is excellent.

Indeed, he's quite a good composer but he's chosen a variety of odd projects in his career so far.

Mark Isham here. I recently finished scoring a film called "Bad Lieutenant" for director Werner Herzog. The film is being released next week, and I wanted to do something special before the release. Below is a link to a suite of the score that I edited personally. It's about 8 minutes long, and contains a good bit of the themes from the film. I'm very proud of the score, and the movie is classic Herzog through and through. Please feel free to post this mp3 on your site, in your blog, or wherever you would like. It is free, and was made specifically for fans.

So here's the suite for Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans:

I like it! It's a bit odd but funky at the same time.

I think with this film there will be two kinds of viewers: those who get the joke, and those who are vicitims of the joke. biggrin

  10. Mark Isham is always giving away MP3s of his music for free on his site. Most recently he's giving away 5 tracks of some of his most climactic sports scores. My favorite of them is the excellent "The Big Race" from Racing Stripes, which is my personal favorite cue of Isham's. There are also excellent tracks from Miracle and Invincible on there. If you don't already have this music, it's pretty hard to beat free and legal.
