A failed psychological thriller, I'd say.

Ahhhhh! So it is, except with added scenes of an Italian policeman being hung with his own intestines, flesh eating boars that eat a man whose already had his face eaten by a dog and an FBI agent feasting on his own brain, yeap! I guess it isn't a horror film.

This was brought to my attention by a user at FSM. Take an hour long journey through suspense and horror film music with host Howard Shore.

I'll listen to the only horror score I seem to own - The Final Conflict, while doing some necessary research. I feel like listening to an original CD rather than mp3s.

Not even Kilar's DRACULA? Zimmer's HANNIBAL? Young's HELLRAISER? Williams THE FURY? Horner's ALIENS? Elfman's SLEEPY HOLLOW? RZA's STEALTH?

    B.T.'s STEALTH, but same difference...

Isn't a horror movie/story technically supposed to actually feature supernatural elements in it? That would of course kill stories like Halloween or generally slashers or torture porn.

Horror / thriller would be a fair description.

  4. Gathered together a whole stack of tracks appropriate for Halloween. Selections so far include:

"Main Title" - Freud - Jerry Goldsmith
"Crossing The Bridge" - Season of the Witch - Atli Örvarsson
"How Did You Know?" - The Thing - Marco Beltrami
"Sins of the Father" - Let Me In - Michael Giacchino
"Laurie Knows" - Halloween - John Carpenter
"Take Off" - Final Destination - Shirley Walker

Seems that so far, the more recent the score, the more innovative scoring to generate scares and uneasiness is set aside and loudness is substituted in its place.

I'm currently playing my 2012 Halloween show playlist. I have to get this recording and edited tonight so I can have it up on the site tomorrow.

  5. I had a look at your Halloween playlist on your Cinematic Sound site and was inspired to gather all my tracks together. Some excellent new titles since that list was put together.
