Working again with composer Scott Glasgow (Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles), whose intense orchestral score for Chasing Ghosts we released as en exclusive online album last year, we are proud to offer you his entertaining horror score Hack – just like all other new MovieScore Media albums available both on CD and via download.

With an abundance of interesting musical ideas and some very neat references to genre classics such as Interview With the Vampire, The Shining and Psycho, Scott's large orchestral score for this film, a tongue-in-cheek horror comedy starring Danica McKellar, William Forsythe and Sean Kanan, is both exciting, frightening and entertaining.

Scott Glasgow had a blast doing the score which - just like the film itself - makes fun of other horror films. "What this gave me as a composer was an opportunity to explore all these visually parodies with musical parodies - if you hear similarities to your favorite film score it is intentional and appropriate for the scene. On top of that you get many other fun styles unrelated to any other films like circus music, baroque opera, Scottish bagpipes, Japanese 'Samurai' music and light orchestral 'fun' cues", explains the composer.

Performed by the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra in Bratislava under the baton of the composer, this is definitely one of 2007's horror film music highlights!

Our release of the score from Hack! co-incides with the DVD release of the film on December 11.

CD edition is limited to 500 copies.

Imagine if a film by that name was scored by someone more controversial than Mr. Glasgow. What an opportunity for puns and insults!

And yeah, Tim, Scott Glasgow is itself somewhat of a funny name. smile
    I am extremely serious.
  1. oh cool, I always loved horror scores when it got that orchestral big sound, tempo and scare

Looking foward to hearing something of this one smile

Kudos to Moviescore Media though, there's so much material out there we just don't know about, and they go out and pick the ones that must be heard, so big thanks Mikael wink

Very cool! After seeing Scott's posts on FSM I went to check the clips on MSM and really liked some of it. I was playing some of it on SST last night to decide whether to get the cd or to download. I do wish the prices for MSM cds were a bit lower, say around $14 (which is what most soundtracks go for on Amazon these days).
