It's very interesting. I am trying to understand what's the difference between this and Firefox.....and Google wave.

It's the default browser and email application in my department lab (which I rarely use). I did not notice any difference between it and Firefox (atleast for the kind of browsing that I do).

And does it include built-in e-mail handling capabilities like outlook express for instance, and irc / chatting?

Yes, think of combining Thunderbird, Firefox along with other apps like Netscape Composer and you have Seamonkey.

I've only used the email and browser so I don't know how good the other apps are.

Yes, it's a toolset of internet applications, integrated wit each other (chat, browser, email application ...)

Google Wave has not really anything to do with it, except for the fact that it is a web application that runs in the browser, that combines/merges a "new type" of communication in one tool.

Haven't used SeaMonkey though, since I don't use IRC/chat and the composer etc. smile

There are separated add-ons for Thunderbird. Install is separate, as it are two different programs. Some might make use of both though.

It's incomparable. You can compare Firefox with IE, but not a whole set of programs (in this case SeaMonkey) with IE. Obviously, Firefox is superior to IE. smile

Maybe I'll be able to use Firefox if I get a new computer.
