    Who is Stephen Barton?

Funny what a little IMDB or Google will yield, James wink

Stephen has worked with HGW since SINBAD, and in terms of solo projects, scored MRS PALFREY AT THE CLAREMONT, and the highly successful video game CALL OF DUTY 4. He's currently working on JENNIFER'S GAME with Teddy Shapiro, and has a few other projects in the works.

Oh, I've heard of Mrs Palfrey. I did actually check IMDB - I was just a little taken aback that everyone seemed to think Shapiro scoring something was awful news, but it was great news that someone who seemed to have written additional music for some (generally not well-received) Gregson-Williams scores was doing it too. Still not sure it computes, unless everyone loves Mrs Palfrey!

Yea that's a weird reaction. I am always looking forward to Shapiro's scores! And to answer the other question, TROPIC THUNDER is like a mix of orchestra and rock band.
I consider a project a success when Thor says he won't buy it

Composer Theodore Shapiro was recently at the Sony Scoring Stage to record his music for the new Harold Ramis comedy, Year One. ScoringSessions.com is pleased to bring our readers a look at the orchestral recording of the score, which utilized a 75-piece ensemble of the Hollywood Studio Symphony, as well as contemporary band elements!

Unbelievable.... score's like "The Boy in the striped pyjamas" (Horner) and "Up" (Giacchino) are only getting sh*** digital realise treatments, but "The Year One" (the trailer looks utterly ridiculous... and it's Jack Black starring in it.... so... rolleyes ) gets a physical realise on CD! confused

Of course, I can't say anything yet on the score... maybe the score is better than the other two mentioned... but still.
  5. I agree it is a shame that the scores you mentioned don't get a CD release, but don't underestimate Shapiro, who always seems to deliver no matter how bad the movies look wink I don't think there has been a Shapiro score album that hasn't been worth listening to (which is something I can't say for many other composers working today).

Presenting the original motion picture score to 20th Century Fox's hit feature film Diary Of A Wimpy Kid starring Zachary Gordon, Robert Capron, Rachel Harris and Steve Zahn, directed by Thor Freudenthal.
