With his most recent nomination for best score at Golden Globes awards for the film A Single Man, Korzeniowski will probably get more attention from the film music community and other music lovers.
Listen to the score A Single Man at his site (a few cues from the movie and other movies also)
http://www.abelkorzeniowski.com/
and also at the official film site: http://www.asingleman-movie.com/#/home
There are 10 cues streaming. By clicking on the pause button of the film, it won't be interrupted. -

Thanks Martin, there's been a lot of talk on this one and it has certainly attracted lots of attention! I still haven't listened to it, but i am intrigued.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

At Korzeniowski's site, you can listen for his music from the film Battle for Terra
There is about 17 minutes of the score presented at this link:

The first cue is outstanding. First, beautiful but than ominous and segues into an thrilling action part for frantic ostinato, banging drums and shrill horns. Great stuff. -

I listened to all the samples on the site last night. Really good stuff especially the Terra score. Where did this guy come from all of a sudden?
*Added his movies to my Netflix queue* -

What a great score!
Calm, soothing, melodic, clever (almost classical) orchestrations. Classy all around! (especially the Korzeniowski bits).I am extremely serious. -

I was somewhat disappointed but I'll give it another listen. Perhaps I'm trying to compare it too much to a typical chamber score.
Thomaslisten to more classical music! -

It reminds me quite a bit of Mansell's The Fountain.

It does. It has some of those same minimalist structures here and there, plus the melancholic string writing.I am extremely serious. -

Abel's string writing is more organic and slightly more complex whilst Mansell's is rock / alternative oriented. But yeah, it's a similar approach.Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders. -

This is glorious epic music. The cues Plague and Aquarius. Wow!

Wow, this is fantastic! Oh man, this is just crying out for an official release ON CD! (not the planned download-only thingy he talks about). -

I'm also listening to his reimagined score for Fritz Lang's METROPOLIS, which is another amazing project. Big 90 piece orchestra and choir, sometimes Philip Glass-ish in its structures and impressive as a whole - why isn't all this released?!
Same goes for PU-239 - wonderfully ethereal work for cello and strings, but again, no release... so much brilliant music, so little on CD . -

Yeah, I love that. I think it's the best he's done, even better than A SINGLE MAN.I am extremely serious. -

Metropolis is available on Itunes. It is better than nothing. Frankly, I don't think that we will see his scores released on CD. It would surprise me a lot. I really hope we get to have a digital release of Battle for Terra and Copernicus Star soon. -

I'm seriously hoping (in vain?) that all the awards attention for A SINGLE MAN has given him a name and enough attention to at least start releasing his future work. Since he uses such large orchestras, and because of the tremendous quality of his work, it truly puzzles me why no label would release this. -

Yes, I understand what you mean. Maybe we should ask Mikael Carlsson at movie Score Media? -

Damn... I would've loved à new score by him. Or at least à release, since he's done so many fantastic stuff that's not even available! -
- CommentTimeAug 2nd 2010
According to Sanko's agency site, he's completed it, so they broke old news. Sanko is also coincidently with the same agency as Korzeniowski -- Evolution Music Partners.
Sanko should feel some safety, being the third composer on the film; rarely does a film ever move to a fourth composer. The views and opinions of Ford A. Thaxton are his own and do not necessarily reflect the ones of ANYONE else. -
