I was unaware! That's excellent news! I've about worn Abel's website out listening to the samples. smile What I've heard so far of that soundtrack has been absolutely great stuff. Glad someone has the common sense to release it. I'll be snapping this one up for sure.

Now if we can just get a release date for Battle for Terra...

Have these 1000-disc releases been selling out quickly recently? I really want to get this but I don't know if I need to order it the minute it comes out or if I can wait until a sane hour of the day...
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!

    They tend to.
There's something about that '1000' mark that makes collectors go insane "Oh my god, if I don't get it NOW, it'll be GONE FOREVER! :panic: :insanity: "

  1. Don't say that! Even more people will now be pressured into getting a title they would not have considered before. Now the CDs will sell out in 5 rather than 6 hours!!

Does LLLR sell these limited releases through SAE or do you have to buy them on their website?
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!
  2. You buy them on their website. This release has been available for about an hour now.

I got it, missed the autographs though, didn't have internet access for the first hour sad

  3. How do you know if you got an autographed copy? I purchased mine almost immediately, but I don't know whether it was autographed or not

    Head over to here:

    http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/p … ;archive=0

And scroll to the bottom of the page. LLR have listed the order numbers that have been successful in securing an autograph: 33672-33780. If your LLR order number is within that spread, you're in!

  5. Sweet! Though if order numbers are indicative of the order in which you purchased it that means that there were still 40 people who bought it before me, and I ordered it as fast as was humanly possible, I thought.

After a while they posted on the front page that autographed copies were out...I didn't get there until that point.

Anyone else listened to all of Copernicus' Star yet? I'm wearing out the CD! smile It's amazing stuff! Themes flow in and out of each other fluidly and Korzenoski has packaged up a nice mix of moods and styles.
  6. Still waiting for mine to arrive...

New project for him, Madonna's romantic comedy (vomit) W-E

Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  7. Madonna makes "W-E".

    Sounds dirty.

Yeeeah, I think it's pretty safe to say that won't be an award-winning film.

But the Edward the VIII element could possibly mean influences from the 20s/30s? And it looks like the rest of it is set in the 80s. I'm not a fan of 80s music in general, but it should be interesting to see what Abel can do with a more modern score incorporating all of those elements.
  8. I wrote a review of Copernicus Star today, if anyone's interested:

Very nice review Jon! Well written! Curious: what would have earned it one 1/2 * more?

Slightly less mickey-mousing. I understand why it's there, but it breaks up the flow of the album just a touch for me.

    From his facebook page:

    Abel Korzeniowski
W.E. could be my best score so far. Madonna really let me spread my wings and soar.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  10. Sounds interesting.

It must be said that around the 2/3rds mark of the album, the score makes a right turn somewhere because the last 10-15 minutes of the album are nothing like the first 30 minutes.

Free music alert! smile Battle for Terra, one of Abel's best works in my opinion, has no official release, but Abel has been uploading one track a day of the complete score to his Facebook page for the last few days. Abel's putting up the images in the form of a TR code (the black and white barcode-type images that smartphones read). Decoding the image leads you to the Dropbox download link for the .wav file. The links are only available for 24 hours. So it's tricky, but worth the effort, the tracks are very good.

    If you're interested:
    -Abel's Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/abelkorzeniowski
    -Today's image: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= … amp;type=1
(Right click on image and select "Copy Image Location" or something similar to get the image url)
-Paste the image url into this decoder: zxing.org/w/decode.jspx
-It'll spit out a Dropbox link. Click the link and save the mp3. And like Abel's page while you're at it, he's a good guy. :P

It looks like Abel's going through the whole soundtrack, so I'm guessing this promotion will go on for another 8 days. Enjoy!
  11. Somebody said in an FSM post a few weeks ago he's actually being considered for the Alien "prequel".

    Wow. Thanks Feliz!

Pretty damn shame I missed out on the earlier tracks. Does anyone now if they're still there anywhere?

Korzeniowski said that "he didn't yet convince Ridley Scott to score Prometheus" on his Facebook page. I gather that he was either kidding or just gave Ridley a promo.

To be honest I wouldn't be that disappointed if he went with Hans.

Yes, missed half as well, so not bothering at this point.
    Nice gesture though.

I'd love to see Hans on such a project, yes. I always wanted him on an Alien-like project. Especially with the developments like Inception smile
