I don't know anything about animated smurfs or its use of music, but there is one Norwegian "smurf album" from the late 70's that is an essential part of my 80's upbringing (and many Norwegians like me), featuring Norwegian children's TV host and actor Geir Børresen in duet with various smurf voices:

I know. I just felt like sharing it since it was moderately relevant. wink (these are not part of those socalled smurf hits, though, but a collection of children's songs from the 70's that are part of every Norwegian's upbrining...at least those my age).

  2. Based on the number of times he's worked with David Newman, I'd say David Newman. Though the film has changed directors. The alst one, who I can't recall the name of, had worked with Debney.

The link from the first post is not working by the way.
I vividly remember hearing Grieg's morning mood in the smurfs a few times and it fit perfectly.
