    For Steven

Here is my little suite from George Fenton's score to VALIANT. Basically this is an edit of the Main Title and the latter half of the epic action cue "The Rescue and Escape." Not sure how many people are familiar with this work but I think it's extraordinary and fans of Ron Goodwin will get a kick out of this piece!

Really good Erik, I see what you mean by the Ron Goodwin comment, it's a tip of the hat to his style. cool

  3. Thought I'd revive this fun topic. beer

Some more creations, though sometimes it wasn't much work at all. I won't bother with Youtube anymore, so we can keep the mixes to ourselves, as opposed to the whole world. Besides, these links won't expire either, unless they're taken down which I hope not.

    The Incredibles - Michael Giacchino - 10:38

You Only Live Twice - John Barry - 9:56

    Sahara - Clint Mansell - 7:33

    The Wolfman - Danny Elfman - 10:19

    Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - Greg Edmonson - 14:05

    Enjoy, dudes & dudettes. wave

Thanks for the suites! Interesting to note that three of these have a very Bond-like connection - YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, obviously, Giacchino's Bond/Barry pastiche in THE INCREDIBLES and Nicholas Dodd's Bond-like orchestrations on SAHARA. Am I sensing a pattern here? wink

I'm not a big fan of that sound myself, but SAHARA was quite alright. And the UNCHARTED stuff sounds very nice in a very oldfashioned way! Never heard of it before.
    I am extremely serious.

No problem. Just pure coincidence. I already had The Incredibles from a while back, but Sahara was one I made a month ago, and refined it a little over time. YOLT I just made yesterday. Nothing extraordinary though. The pattern is they're all kickass and have memorable themes.

  6. How would you all prefer suites? Representative/good pieces from various cues edited together as a suite, or a suite made up of one or two cues (or more, depending on length)?

  7. Make it how you like it should be heard... We all have our own approach to this kind of editing. And the more varied those approaches are the more fun it is to check them out. beer

  8. Three suites coming throughout the day. First one:

    "Guinevere"
    Christophe Beck

There's one noticable abrupt edit, but the rest I tried to make smooth.

Hey Justin, there's a jarring edit at 3:57, try to disguise that a little by mixing the end of the previous cue and begin of the next together until you get a good result, the way I do that is by using a short fade-in and fade-out and then mix / undo / mix until it sounds right. Otherwise good job.

Quite enjoyable this one, a good mix. Keep 'em coming!

  11. Yeah, I got lazy and the night was drawing to an end, so I let that edit slip.

Two more suites for AotT coming, then that's it for that title.

Cool. Simple as the theme may be, it sticks nonetheless. Thanks a lot.

I saw the film once or twice but the music didn't exactly stand out at the time.

    BATMAN FOREVER: SUITE
    http://vimeo.com/11909780

This suite is a beast! It doesn't let up... maybe for about 20-30 second around the 7 minute mark... but for the most part it's a loud, epic suite containing all the meaty parts of Goldenthal's gothic comic book score!
