It's brilliant that not only does the awful parody of Twilight suck but the actual film is competing against it. -

It's not worst picture nominated, which I applaud. The Expendables is huge goddamned FUN. On my second viewing I sat there smiling like a small child receiving a birthday present.
Got to give it to Stallone, he knows how to direct over the top, unpretentious, action flicks.
I hope he'll be able to get even more bad-asses for the sequel."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

a real shame indeed to nominate Sylvester Stallone for worst director, that movie nor the man doesn't deserve that. Because you don't have to take The Expendables serious at allwaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Where's my nut? arrrghhhhhhh -

The Expendables is something I can watch over and over again, unlike some of the drivel that's already tiring after one viewing."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

Not a title in particular, but just movies that fait to generate even one feeling when you watch em. With the Expandables I'm laughing out loud a lot so those are the keepers, I'll keep on LOL'ing with each viewing."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

I have to admit, I don't watch a lot of movies anymore... the desire to watch anything new is rapidly vanishing with each passing year, it'll have to be pretty darn special to catch my interest.
But re-watching is something I will keep on doing, especially the films that generate all sorts of emotions, the more the better."considering I've seen an enormous debate here about The Amazing Spider-Man and the ones who love it, and the ones who hate it, I feel myself obliged to say: TASTE DIFFERS, DEAL WITH IT" - Thomas G. -

Exactly. The film was a brilliant throwback to the totally unpretentious, gung ho 80's action films. That film, and PREDATORS, both managed that wonderfully and so are on my Top 11 list of last year (PREDATORS no. 10 and EXPENDABLES no. 11).I am extremely serious. -

there are movies I can watch over and over again, others that have an expiration date. I love watching new movies, because the first time you watch something magical can't equal with the exact same film that you watch for the third time in a row.
But to get a glimpse back of that magic is a big reason to watch a movie again, just like listening to an album again and againwaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!! Where's my nut? arrrghhhhhhh -

I'd rather watch Raiders of the Lost ark, The Empire Stikes Back, Back To The Future, Dances With Wolves, How To Train Your Dragon, Groundhog Day, Schindler's List, Casino, A Few Good Men, Jaws, The Lord of the Rings, Citizen Kane, etc a billion times over then most of the new shit that comes out in theatres these days. Not that I'm not open to new films but How To Train Your Dragon is the first film to break into my Top 10 of all time in a really, really and I mean a really, really long time!

Sadly, I don't get out to the theatre much anymore but from what I did see I was impressed with the simplistic story telling of The Social Network.
Inception blew my fucking mind on the first viewing because I couldn't really figure it all out after just one viewing but once I saw the film again I realized that it was complex just for the sake of being complex. The score still sucks in context.
The Black Swan was solid but riddled with one cliche after another. Great use of music, special effects and cinematography though.
Toy Story 3 was an exceptional sequel. Lots of heart and I shed a tear HOWEVER Dragon is a far superior film in every shape and form.
Devil was a solid horror thriller. The ending was pants but I liked the concept.
Grown Ups... WWWWWWHHHHHHHHYYYYYY?!?!?!?
That's about it... I think. Can't wait to see True Grit and The King's Speech.
However, I did get a chance to see a few "oldies"
American Psycho. I lapped this one up. Tongue in cheek humor at its best and Christian Bale was magnificent.
Lost In Translation. I like it for what it was. A very, very simple story about a week in two strangers lives who have a chance meeting and fall in love... but not in the traditional way.
Timer. Cute sci-fi rom-com that didn't take the expected route most rom-coms go down.
Kings of Kong. Fascinating documentary about these guys who compete at breaking the records of classic arcade video games... this film focusing on Donkey Kong. This film features one of cinemas ALL TIME best bad guys, Billy Mitchell. Highly recommended!
Finished off season 5 of Dexter. Still the best TV show at this very moment.
The Pacific. Got through five episodes and gave up. Loathed, loathed, loathed episdoes 3-5 that I didn't care to watch the rest.

Erik, I just finished watching THE PACIFIC and I absolutely loved it, it's different but, IMO, just as good as BAND OF BROTHERS, watch the rest of it, it's superb, it's true stories, all the characters are based on the real people, some of the casting when compared to the real soldiers seen in the last episode were uncanny in resemblance.
a 10/10 series for me.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

They show it pretty much as it was. Anyway, this story wasn't shown from the Japanese viewpoint, you can see Clint Eastwood's Sands of Iwo Jima for a take on that.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -
