SCREEN ANNOUNCES LATEST TITLES IN DIGITAL REISSUE CAMPAIGN
(March 2, 2010) Silva Screen Records has been providing outstanding Film and Television music for over 20 years and is proud to announce a year-long campaign to reissue their catalog digitally in the United States and Canada for the first time.
On March 16, 2010 the following recordings will be available via iTunes, Amazon, Napster among many other digital platforms:
The Valley Of Gwangi
Cat No: SILED1049
The collection is an essential collection of difficult to find Jerome Moross Compositions, including a 20 minutes suite from The Valley of Gwangi, plus The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Sharkfighters, The Mountain Road, Rachel Rachel, The War Lord, Five Finger Exercise, Wagon Train. One of America’s greatest composers, Jerome Moross is best known for his Oscar nominated score to the classic Western The Big Country. Re-issued and re-mastered due to popular demand from soundtrack fans, The Valley Of Gwangi is released in conjunction with Jerome Moross’ family. The album has been supervised at every stage by the composer’s daughter Susanna Moross Tarjan.
Greek Film Music
Cat No: SILED4507
An unusual album that will appeal to both the film music buff, collectors of ethnic influenced "beautiful music" and fans of Greek Music. The music is performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic conducted by Nic Raine, featuring the The Martin Kershaw Bouzouki Ensemble. The album features a bonus track, Greece’s number one female singer Haris Alexiou sings the song from Phaedra
Nosferatu
Cat No: SILED1084
In 1995, a German museum contacted Silva Screen Records to license recordings the label had released from Hammer horror film composer James Bernard for an upcoming videocassette reissue of the classic silent film Nosferatu. Instead they ended up hiring Bernard to compose an original score which would eventually be released by Silva Screen that year.
Silva Screen hopes that the campaign will go some way to meet the growing demand for the excellent and varied music found within the genre of soundtracks.
Founded in 1986, Silva Screen Records is an independent record label which is one of the world’s leading film and television specialist soundtrack companies. The company boasts a catalogue of over 500 titles and over 5000 master recordings.

Looking forward to it, Tom.
I have had the CD for some years now, and to my mind it's one of Bernard's most atypical efforts.'So, this is pretty much the worst original-to-remake transition in the entire history of film scoring. Poledouris...to Bates.' ~ Scribe -

I truly hope that the Silva reissue program will be a success. It will introduce some of this music to many. -

Silva has also reissued Batman Begins (physical CD) - same content as first release, so I guess it must have gone out of print? -
