Any real reason why you shouldn't?
I have interrupted many and varied a listen because a sudden craving for Star Wars compelled me towards Williams' timeless masterworks.

    It's not a competition.
Just about how to maximise enjoyment out of life.
Something we do far too little.

Well. I do that far too little, at any rate.

Edit: HEY! You edited your post!
You SAID you were tempted to go and listen to Empire Strikes Back instead.
    Don't deny it!
    I've seen it!

ahahaha. I edited my post again after read your reply.

I deleted it because I thought it was very bad wrotte.

I don't deny myself, Watching the Empire cover right now (dammed! I bought the 2004 repressing!!! grrrrr). And In fact, I put the first CD ... punk punk

I have also listened to a Star Wars score: Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones

The weakest of the 6 Star Wars score, in my opinion. The new Love Theme is very nice but it seems that Williams couldn't find an inspiration. The action writing in this score is so bland and there are many very boring tracks where nothing happens.
I can't blame the film, though. I think Episode 1. is much worse, still, Williams could compose a very good score for that.
Anyway, he did find his inspiration again with Episode 3. That's another good score.

  1. The Kung-Fu Will Smith Kid - Horner

Ok so this comes from someone who was really disappointed with Avatar... but I actually like this somewhat. It's melodic, it's the usual style and use of motifs we've come to expect from the man. At the same time I think it lacks a personality and the album is too long (again) but I'll definitely check this out more in the weeks to come. I can only judge a score after about 3-4 listens anyway. But it leaves a better first impression than Avatar did. And this one does have a proper ending even if the action cues lack the excitement of early Horner. But that isn't exactly new.

Next listen, since everybody's going bananas over it: The Last Airbender. I expect this to be really good !

    NP:Secret of Sahara

    Still my favourite Morricone score.

    majestous, inventive, epic, moving, touching....

"Red Ghosts" is so weird that you can just smile. Fantastic piece.

Is Secret of Sahara a sequel of "sahara"? It shares themes and orchestrations?

No, Sahara and Secret of the Sahara are two completely different movies. The score of Sahara costs heavy bucks at e-bay but I can tell you that it is nowhere as good as The Secret of the Sahara.

    I think you are lying....

I don't say it's a bad score, but it's thematically poor, almost every track has some suspense stuff (wich kills the listening experience), and about the orchestrations thing I said...I'ts (almost) only strings, horns, trumpets and percusion. I need more colorful orchestrations: bells, harps, more flutes.... Even newton Howard subtile synth isn't here!

Boy... you'd certainly hate Herrmann's music, Jordi! Seriously... don't go near Psycho. No horns, brass, bells... just... wait for it... STRINGS! It's fucking terrible! suicide

Herrman has a lot of harps tongue

I think Airbender will be more overrated than Lady in the water (wich at least was way more colorful :P).

By the way, D thinks the same as me. that the score is boring in the middle!
