the official 2010 summer thread :P

What will be the score of this summer???

Star trek deluxe edition doesn't count. It was the score of the 2009 summer!!! So, his killer theme doesn't belong here.

for order of the movie realease:

    A-team (Silvestri) - I expect a re-arrangement of Mike Post theme with 100 pieces!

The karate Kid (Horner ) - Dude I can't wait to listen this one, I expect a loud laught!

Johna Hex (Beltrami) - If it is Yuma mixed with hellboy action material....

Knight & day - IT IS POWELL!

The last Airbender (James newton Howard) - it is Newton Howard with Shaymalan!!!!

Eclipse (Shore) - I guess someone is interested on this one...

Despicable me - A Remote Control Party!!

Predators (debney) - It can be what IM2 wasn't

Inception (Zimmer) - It's Zimmer going crazy again!

The Sorcerer's apprentice (Rabin) - Rabin showing to Djawadi how to make a McScore.

Salt (Newton Howard) - Newton Howard making a elegant McScore.

    The expendables (Tyler)
    - A noisy end to the summer season.

I have high hopes for Inception.
I'm also looking forward to The Last Airbender even though I have zero interest in the movie.
But since I love Horner more than Zimmer or JNH, The Karate Kid music is what I'm the most interested in.

Last Airbender, Salt, A-Team, Knight & Day and Inception are most eagerly awaited by me. I think Airbender will be the best out of them.

On the new scores for 2010 front there's nothing I'm looking forward to really except Desplat's new Potter score but I hope to be pleasently surprised by some new score, whoever the composer may be.

What I really look forward to is great releases of older scores which, so far this year, has got off to a brilliant start.

Top of my waiting list is Largo Winch 2 which I *think* will be out around Feb next year. I hope Varese pick it up again.

I presume it's Desplat again? I thought the first score was very good.

Summer's around? i'd also add PRINCE OF PERSIA in that list which satisfies all summer flick factors and it's hugely entertaining. I am hoping for more in this vein, good old fashioned summer blockbusters with not much thinking needed, high enjoyment and an arena for kick ass scores. But usually summer period brings a lot of mediocre crap too, for instance i believe a-team will fulfill this this year.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

Something that is full of unhealthy music fat that is bad for the ears.

Ok....The summer is almost over (in terms of the most expected movies and scores).

In my opinion , the best scores of this season was:

Predators: At last one score with Orchestral power without making too much noise!

Knight And Day: Even being weak it has energy enough.

Inception : Some interesting things on it. "collapsin dream" , "radical notion", "old souls" and "time" are good enough.
  4. How to Train Your Dragon has been my favorite score the of the year, followed by Alice in Wonderland...

But are we only talking about summer films here? In that case... I don't have anything to say...

So far for me the best summer score is The Last Airbender, though I haven't heard Inception enough to fully appreciate it, I doubt its cerebral nature will overcome TLA's pure beauty in my book.
I love you all. Never change. Well, unless you want to!

Top score indeed; the only one i haven't been able to digest 'till now was Predators.
