NFL?
Nigerian Football League?
I thought only Cameroon, Ghana and South Africa had made it to the world cup play-off?'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Well, three European teams left, and only one South-American. Didn't see that one coming. -

I doubt INCEPTION will be specifically funny, but nevertheless, yes, I think it will rock, too. -

My friend put money on Uruguay winning right at the begining of this tournament because of the good odds, I bet he's bitten his nails down the nearer they get to the final.
I STILL want Holland to win though. On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Oh, The Netherlands should make the final easily (and in fact as I type I hear screams and shouts and vuvuzelas outside, suggesting the first goal against Uruguay is a reality).
Uruguay is not much of threat, although they've been quite lucky.
The finals are pretty much assured...but then it's going to be up against -in all probability- Germany...
Now that should be a nailbiter.'no passion nor excitement here, despite all the notes and musicians' ~ Falkirkbairn -

Holland are nearly a cert to go through ( 3-1 with about 15 minutes to go ) but I don't think anyone should write Spain off yet.On Friday I ate a lot of dust and appeared orange near the end of the day ~ Bregt -

Wow, what an exciting finish....what a comeback that would have been for Uruguay if they managed to score the equalizer that far on extra time.
In any case, congrats to the Netherlands. They'll be a tough match for Germany in the final (sorry, Spain).I am extremely serious. -

Uruguay was more entertaining to watch than Paraguay, though. At least they weren't as extremely defense-oriented as their South American colleagues. But I'm pleased with the three remaining teams, not only because they're European, but also because they're all quite attacking and entertaining to watch when they have a good day.I am extremely serious. -

From memory, isn't it usually the case that when the World Cup is in Europe, it's won by a European team, and when it isn't, it isn't? But this time there will be a European winner.
2006 - in Germany - won by Italy
2002 - in Japan/SK - won by Brazil
1998 - in France - won by France
1994 - in USA - won by Brazil
1990 - in Italy - won by Germany
1986 - in Mexico - won by Argentina
1982 - in Spain - won by Italy
1978 - in Argentina - won by Argentina
1974 - in Germany - won by Germany
1970 - in Mexico - won by Brazil
1966 - in England - won by England
1962 - in Chile - won by Brazil
1958 - in Sweden - won by Brazil
So this will be the first time since 1958 that the rule is broken.
