I bet hard cash that you've heard the POLICE ACADEMY theme, at the very least.
    I am extremely serious.

Yes, you're right, but not for about 20 years (in one of the films).

I am afraid the Steven warbeck version of enter dragons is significantly more emotionally engaging.
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.

    Good review James.
    I totally agree!

(And, unfortunately, with antineutrino's note on the (non-existent) dynamics. But that's something that's been plagueing pretty much 100% of recordings for over fifteen years now, and it doesn't seem likely to stop any time soon).

I do enjoy this one a lot, but that love theme is so... crap. Really corny.

The blaring trumpets and Spanish guitar wins me over though!

I love everything about this score. If it wasn't for Giacchino's JOHN CARTER, this would be the front runner for score of the year!

Recently Lawnmowerman2 is being requested frequently again on SST.
Didn't know the score that good, but was surprised it was so good.

Still have to get "There be dragons". Very curious to that one.
wow, that was fun, let's do it again (Donkey in Shrek)

I'm sorry were you looking for more waltzs, love themes, tangos and atmospheric drones in an action score? wink

When action music is done this well it NEVER gets to be too much.

hey, I grew up with Robert Folk tongue

I knew what to expect, and I love the old fashioned orchestral action music. But in Beastmaster 2 there are several tracks I'm not so fond off, and I feel those returned in Lawnmower Man 2

Ah, you'll see soon enough when I release my Robert Folk update wink

on the contary, I give it 4 stars wink
but there are several tracks (big ballsy tracks) that I'm not so fond off, and just those types of action music return in Lawnmower 2 too often, which results in a 3 star rating for Lawnmower Man 2

  7. Very recent interview I accidently stumbled upon -- I didn't see anybody post it at the regular boards:

    http://whatculture.com/film/exclusive-i … t-folk.php

Talks about "There Be Dragons", the "Police Academy" reboot coming and other things. Sadly, no new projects announced.

He made a rather impassioned post about the recent choices of the Oscars, and it's turned into a relatively heated debate about the state of modern film music (both David Arnold and Zimmer getting quite involved).
  8. Where? The last post I can see by him is about that disqualified Broughton song, over a month ago... confused
  9. Zimmer posted? You sure it wasn't Lorne Balfe, Harry Gregson-Williams, Ruper Gregson-Williams, Mel Wesson, or 15 other guys that posted for him?
