I've played this a gazillion times....a fantastic mash-up of Grandmaster Flash's classic "The Message" with the end titles from Vangelis' BLADE RUNNER:

    It's freakin' addictive!

    God, that's awful!

Not knowing who Grandmaster Flash is I wasn't prepared for the talking.

I think it's fantastic, and I must have listened to it about 20 times already over the last couple of weeks.

Of course, it helps if you're into old-school hip hop and breakbeats, which I am. GF is a pioneer and legend going back to the 70's.

But beyond that, there's also an awesome synchronization between the two compositions and the beat.

    D00d! shocked

Even I, who loathe and despise rap music, know its granddaddy!

And looky -- something new, if you check his music editor's credits, added to his IMDB credits: "Prometheus".

I guess that means Marc Streitenfeld has indeed gotten the film.

  3. What a great cue from some Japanese(?) animae film. The compsoer is somebody named Yoko Kanno:

  4. Yes. It's Japanese and she is very popular in Japan.

I don't know this particular score, but I liked her work in the TV series Ghost in the Shell.

She tends to record in Warsaw a lot.

  6. Using a fake "Prometheus" trailer from a couple years ago, I used music by a favorite composer of mine to rescore it, 'cause I wish he'd get a job like this, and making the video only made me further concur with the initial thoughts. Again, not my trailer, so...

Take a listen to this, a bonus track called "Eye Pieces" from Alan Parsons Project's EYE IN THE SKY album remaster, and basically an assembly of Andrew Powell's orchestrations:

No pop beats or anything, just the orchestral and choral music shining in all its glory- especially towards the end! Goosebumps galore!
