Nice! Posted it on fb too smile
Love Maintitles. It's full of Wanders.
  1. Hi there,
Alan thank you very much for taking the time to review the score, I really appreciate it. I am also very glad that the reception of the score is that good smile Didn`t quite expect it !
  2. It's great that Maciek's score is finally getting coverage, because it surely deserves it. I hope the review (and another one is coming up, from what I know) will bring the score closer to an official album release...

    I hope so too!

As I said in the review, when you see what is being released and compare it with Maciek's it is difficult to see the reasonings for it. I am sure that it is nothing to do with the quality of the music. It does reinforce the view that most of the music that is released nowadays is there purely to support the release of the film rather than to promote the music itself.

I am surprised though that more speciality labels have not taken an interest.

  4. Maybe the problem is that we don't have enough contacts? Maciek sent the promo to Mikael Carlsson, who didn't get back to him ever since.

    Who else could we contact?

It is an excellent score. Of a style that I really enjoy. It may not be "in your face" enough for a lot of listeners who like more action-oriented scoring, but the thematic material alongside the way that you can do so much with the resources you had to hand, makes it a very enjoyable listen.

I hope any reviews such as this can help you and the music get as much attention as it surely deserves.

Hi there, thanks for all the comments ! I am very glad you liked it - I was definitely going for something haunting and, well... beautiful (at least I tried to). The score is Zimmer-inspired (exactly those two titles Thor mentioned wink ), though I am also a huge fan of McCreary`s BSG and Alexandre Desplat, so a lot of inspiration from those two composers as well. The whole score is about 50 minutes, you can check out some photos from the recording sessions on my blog: here and here.

I really appreciate your comments and I hope to post some more music soon smile

btw. I am 24. I have no music diploma, I played some classical stuff on a guitar, then I switched to piano couple of years ago.

Blimey. Well, if you go onto bigger things and become super rich and famous, remember us so we can leach off your fame and fortune! cheesy (Especially me. I'm the same age, so that should help.)

On a serious note, it's nice to see a composer being so open about their influences.

  12. Maciek Dobrowolski donated his Clockwise album to SST. It is now requestable (if not already in the queue) here on StreamingSoundTracks.Com
Thank you Maciek for donating it.

I think that, up to this point, interest from the labels has been poor.

  18. Poor is an understatement.

We tried two labels, both ignored us. Including Mikael.

    sad

I have no idea if it will help, but maybe you should contact Beth Krakower from Cinemedia Promotions (username cinemediapromo), who posts here and on SST new releases. Maybe Beth can help you there to get in contact with labels.

Yeah, that wouldn't be a bad idea actually. If you want i have intrada and silva contacts too. Msg me.

As for the score, as i wrote on Maciek's wall on fb today: today i got the greatest surprise in the mail (Clockwise promo signed). Can't thank you enough! (and this goes out to Pawel too:) I was wondering if there is a way i can watch the movie somewhere (a closed promo site perhaps?) so i can review the score thoroughly ? It aches my brain that this score (Clockwise) hasn't got a release yet; some labels are releasing stuff that aren't half as good as your melodic work.
